Adrienne Breef-Pilz
Adrienne joined the Carey lab in summer 2020, transitioning from a marine environment to a fresh one. Prior to joining us she worked with Dr. David Kimbro at Northeastern University, studying oysters’ responses to predators in northeast Florida. Adrienne managed all of the water quality sensors for that project and brings an incredible troubleshooting expertise to the lab. She has a bachelor’s of science in Biology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst (2013) and a master’s degree in marine science from Northeastern University’s Three Seas Program (2017). While at Northeastern, Adrienne worked with the Outreach Department leading lessons on the rocky shore, tours of the labs and surrounding area, and a marine science summer camp. When not in the lab or the field you can find her exploring, diving, or with a book in her hand.
